Eligibility Requirements

NCAA Academic Requirements

Without academic standards, you will not be eligible to play college athletics. Therefore, it is crucial that you meet the minimum requirements as soon as possible to be cleared by the NCAA Eligibility Center (Division I and II only). The majority of your academic eligibility is deprived from your core courses in high school, represented by your GPA and the additional SAT/ACT standardized tests.

NCAA Amateurism Status

NCAA student-athletes are officially considered "amateur" athletes. The student comes before the athlete. While getting your eligibility academically, the NCAA also checks if you have not played sports professionally before coming to the United States. Some of the aspects checked by the NCAA Eligibility Center include receiving funds from third parties that exceed the cost of necessary expenses, being represented by a professional agent and delayed enrollment after graduation. The NCAA takes these checks very seriously and ,unfortunately, many student-athletes have been denied eligibility due to lack of awareness of these requirements.
